JEFFERSON-INSPIRED CITIZENS GROUP TO PRESSURE CANDIDATES TO ANSWER QUESTIONS
NH Asks , Inc. a citizens’ organization modeled on Thomas Jefferson’s belief that we must have an informed citizenry, today launched the first of a massive, daily advertising campaign aimed at eliciting answers from the candidates in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary—answers to questions the candidates have constantly and consistently refused to answer.
Beginning today, NH Asks will post in newspapers across the state, questions to individual candidates, questions those individual candidates have shunned, refused to answer, or ignored—thus far.
NH Asks will offer the candidates a forum to “come clean,” and answer the questions, or, face the wrath of New Hampshire’s voters. When the candidates do answer the questions, we will publish the answers unedited. We will score those answers based on a Straightforwardness, Truthfulness & Responsiveness scale, of between one (1) to ten (10) stars, called the STR RATING. NH Asks will work on behalf of our citizens to press the candidates, and lead the candidates to accountability. NH Asks will begin publishing in our advertisements the candidates’ individual STR ratings one week after posing our initial questions to them. Candidates’ ratings will also be posted on the NH Asks website, www.nh-asks.org.
This ad campaign questioning the Presidential Candidates will run EVERY DAY from today through Primary Day here in New Hampshire. The candidate Straightforwardness, Truthfulness & Responsiveness ratings will begin next week, and continue throughout the campaign. This will provide New Hampshire voters a clear indication of where the candidates stand on the issues that they—to this point—seem unwilling to fully address.
Candidates are encouraged to answer via public statement, press release, and/or submit answers for unedited publication on our website. CANDIDATES TAKE NOTE: Your NH Asks rating will be impacted by non-responsiveness as well as the straightforwardness and truthfulness of your responses to the questions posed.
“The voters of New Hampshire have a right to a truthful and straightforward understanding of the positions, accomplishments, and policies of those who represent us, and those who seek to represent us,” said Nathaniel Gurien, Executive Director, NH Asks. “We encourage citizens to submit questions of their own.” To do that, Gurien said, email questions to: suggest@nh-asks.org.
Citizens are encouraged to contribute to each candidate’s STR RATING by voting at: www.nh-asks.org/STR
Roger Tilton and Nathaniel Gurien are both available for live, IM and telephone interviews at any time.
